Education and Experience

Bachelor of Arts in biology – Cornell University
Doctorate of Dental Surgery – Columbia University
Master of Medical Sciences and certificate in orthodontics – Harvard School of Dental Medicine

Dr. Chen has practiced orthodontics for more than 20 years. She was initially drawn to healthcare, believing health is a person’s most fundamental need and everything else in life depends on and builds upon it. She chose oral healthcare, and to specialize in orthodontics, out of a desire to build long-term relationships with her patients in a close setting.

Taking time to get to know her patients, and learning what they want from their orthodontic care, allows Dr. Chen to design a personalized treatment plan. She considers their personal and clinical situation, aesthetics, and oral health, to deliver improved dental health and an amazing smile.

Dr. Chen regularly pursues continuing education to stay at the leading-edge of research, technology, and treatment advances. This allows her to help each patient achieve the best results possible, with the most comfort and efficiency.

She is also past chairperson of the Merrimack Valley District Dental Society and a former clinical instructor of orthodontics at Harvard University.

Beyond the Office

Dr. Chen grew up in Hong Kong and has resided in Massachusetts for over 25 years. Her free time is spent with her family: She and her husband Kan have three children — Madeleine, Sebastian, and Spencer — as well as Shiro, their dog. The family enjoys many outdoor activities, including cycling, swimming, and hiking, along with camping in the summer and skiing in the winter.
